Been so long since I have felt like writing. In my absence I somehow got some readership in France. Go figure.
What have I been doing? Reading. Listening to music. Playing music. And investigating new avenues in my teaching, sparked by an invigorating professional development I was invited to create and present along with another National Writing Project Consultant, the esteemed Dr. Laurie Kemp. The day with the teachers at St. Andrew's School in Cape Coral ignited my teaching vision anew. I am delving deep into the field of literacy and rethinking everything I do in the classroom.
Needless to say, that alone is occupying a lot of time.
So, I've decided that today is just an update and a chance to share a soulful song I heard the other night on Live at Daryl's House. I've never paid much attention to the singer Gavin Degraw, but he was quite impressive on this Hall & Oates song -- one that was released on an album in 2007, but that I have not been aware of until this program.
Sit back and enjoy your Saturday afternoon tune: "I Want to Know You For a Long Time"
